Professional Bio

Amanda Hiers joined the South Carolina Hospital Association in 2025 and currently serves as the Director of Community Health and Innovation. In this role, through the lens of sustainability and continuous quality improvement, she leads the design and implementation of AccessHealth and Healthy People, Healthy Carolinas programming across South Carolina and supports key grant initiatives including the SC Roadmap to address nonmedical factors impacting health.

Prior to joining SCHA, Amanda served as the senior program manager for the Community Health Transformation team at the SC Office of Rural Health, leading network development and technical assistance resources for community leaders and healthcare providers related to community-based population health programs.

Through her diverse state and community level partnerships, she also offers experience in high reliability, community health, access to care, transitions of care, and behavioral health.

She also has more than 12 years of experience from the clinical setting in process improvement, hospital safety and quality, health system navigation, and patient education and engagement. A native of Barnwell County, Amanda is an advocate for improving health equity and reducing health disparities by addressing social determinants of health in South Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resource management from Southern Wesleyan University.
