2026 SC Office of Rural Health Annual Conference

Join us October 20–22, 2026, in Spartanburg for the South Carolina Office of Rural Health Annual Conference. This annual event brings together rural health leaders, providers, and partners from across the state to connect, learn, and collaborate on ways to strengthen rural health in South Carolina.

There are several ways to get involved:

  • Call for Speakers: Share your knowledge and help inspire rural health leaders across the state.

  • Call for Sponsors: Highlight your organization while supporting rural health initiatives.

  • Award Nominations: Help us recognize individuals and organizations making a difference in rural communities.

Upcoming Funding Opportunity: Rural Residency Planning & Development (RRPD)

The Rural Residency Planning and Development (RRPD) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is expected to be released soon, with a forecasted posting date of April 14, 2026. This program provides start-up funding to support the development of accredited rural residency programs in qualifying medical specialties, helping build a sustainable rural healthcare workforce through long-term funding mechanisms such as Medicare and, where available, Medicaid or state support.
  • Expected release: April 14, 2026
  • Supports creation of accredited rural residency programs
  • Focus on long-term sustainability through stable funding sources
  • Prepare now by reviewing last year’s NOFO (HRSA-25-007) on Grants.gov
  • Check FAQs on HRSA.gov and planning tools available through RuralGME.org
