Navigating Vaccine Conversations: Confidence & Skill Building
Measles is back, and South Carolina has experienced one of the nation’s largest outbreaks. With more than 2,200 confirmed cases reported nationwide this year, Community Health Workers must be prepared to respond.
Families’ decisions about childhood vaccines may be shaped by fear, misinformation, personal experiences, cultural beliefs, or a lack of trust in the medical system. Effective conversations begin with understanding—not judgment.
The South Carolina Community Health Worker Association and the Southern Alliance for Public Health Leadership invite CHWs to this timely, four-hour CEU training:
Navigating Vaccine Conversations: Confidence & Skill Building
Wednesdays, August 5 and 12
11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Participants must attend both sessions to complete the training and earn four CHW CEUs.
Community Health Workers serve as a vital bridge between the medical system and the community. This interactive training will help CHWs develop the confidence and practical skills to:
- Listen for the concerns and experiences behind vaccine decisions
- Respond without judgment or confrontation
- Build trust and shared understanding
- Navigate emotionally charged conversations
- Help families make informed decisions
- Move communities toward action that protects our children
The goal is not to win an argument. It is to preserve trust, create space for honest conversation, and help families protect the health of their children.
Register today. These conversations cannot wait.
