Call for Award Nominations – 2026 SCORH Annual Conference
Nominations are now open for awards to be presented at the South Carolina Office of Rural Health (SCORH) Annual Conference, taking place October 20–22, 2026, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. These awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to improving health and quality of life in rural communities across the state.
We encourage partners and community members to submit nominations to help highlight the impactful work being done throughout rural South Carolina. Award recipients will be recognized during the 2026 conference.

Unlocking Pediatric Readiness in Rural Health
Join the National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC) on March 12, 2026 | 1:00–2:15 PM ET for a free technical assistance webinar, Unlocking Pediatric Readiness in Rural Health.
Presented by Dr. Alana J. Arnold, CEO & Founder of PEMPal, this session will share practical strategies to help Rural Health Clinics safely keep more kids in-community, reduce unnecessary transfers, and strengthen pediatric care within existing resources.
CRHCP-certified professionals can earn 1 CEU. Advance registration is required.

Molina Model of Care (MOC) Training Required
Molina Healthcare of South Carolina requires providers serving Special Needs Plan (SNP) members to complete annual Model of Care (MOC) training to remain compliant with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.
Providers must complete the 2026 MOC training and submit a signed Attestation Form by December 31, 2026. Group submissions must include an authorized signature and attendance roster.

Timely completion helps ensure continued participation in Molina’s SNP network and supports coordinated care for high-need Medicare beneficiaries.

South Carolina Severe Weather & Flood Safety Week: March 8–14, 2026
Governor Henry McMaster has designated March 8–14, 2026, as South Carolina Severe Weather and Flood Safety Week. This annual observance highlights the importance of preparing for hazards that frequently impact our state, including severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, flash flooding, and coastal storms.
During the week, state and local partners will share preparedness information and safety tips to help South Carolinians stay informed and ready before severe weather strikes. Residents are encouraged to review their emergency plans and ensure they can receive weather alerts.
Staying prepared helps protect families, homes, and communities across South Carolina.

Community partners are invited to attend upcoming Results-Based Accountability (RBA) workshops designed to help organizations strengthen their planning and evaluation efforts. These sessions provide practical tools for using data to measure outcomes, improve programs, and better serve communities.

Rural Forward SC Listening Session
Rural Forward SC will host a Listening Session in Walterboro, SC on Monday, March 23, from 5:00p.m.-6:30p.m. This session will be held at the Colleton County Museum, 506 E Washington St., Walterboro, SC 29488.
This session is an opportunity for community members, partners, and local leaders to share what’s working, identify challenges, and help shape a shared vision and priorities for rural South Carolina. Registration is available through Eventbrite. We hope you’ll attend and add your voice to the conversation. |
