Federal nutrition and health programs like SNAP and Medicaid remain critical lifelines for families experiencing food insecurity and health disparities, yet recent policy changes are reshaping program access in real time. Updates tied to HR 1, including revised work requirements and changes to Medicaid eligibility, are already influencing participation rates and creating significant challenges for communities across the country, particularly immigrant families.

This webinar will provide a clear and practical overview of SNAP and Medicaid, including eligibility basics, recent federal and state-level changes, and what these updates mean for the communities you serve. The session will include a focused briefing on key updates, policy changes, and implementation considerations at the national and state level, with particular attention to how HR 1 affects immigrant communities and what the proposed work requirements mean for program access.

Participants will also hear practical strategies for supporting SNAP and Medicaid access, including approaches to navigating work requirements, addressing barriers facing immigrant communities, and strengthening outreach through trusted community-based efforts.
