Celebrating Good Samaritan Clinic’s Recognition in FIG Columbia Magazine
The South Carolina Community Health Worker Association is proud to celebrate Good Samaritan Clinic for being selected as FIG Columbia Magazine’s 2026 Social Mission partner. FIG Magazine is a beautifully produced publication that highlights the best of Columbia — local businesses, arts, dining, and community organizations making a meaningful impact. Each year, the magazine selects one social mission to feature throughout all four seasonal issues, and we are thrilled to see Good Samaritan Clinic recognized in this way.
The recognition was recently celebrated at the Spring issue launch event in Columbia, where community members, local businesses, and partners gathered to connect and celebrate the organizations helping strengthen the Midlands. It was a wonderful opportunity to share more about the work happening at Good Samaritan Clinic and the many ways the community continues to come together in support of its mission.
For more than 25 years, Good Samaritan Clinic has provided compassionate, respectful, free medical care to uninsured neighbors in the Midlands. The clinic was founded by Lidia, whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for a ministry rooted in service, dignity, and love for the community. Her leadership helped create a place where individuals who might otherwise go without care could find support, healing, and hope.
Today, that mission continues under the leadership of Executive Director Mike Young, who works alongside dedicated staff, volunteers, healthcare professionals, churches, and community partners to ensure the clinic continues serving those who need it most. Through their collective efforts, the clinic remains a powerful example of what can happen when compassion and community come together.
The work of Good Samaritan Clinic is made possible through the generosity of volunteers, donors, churches, and community supporters who believe in ensuring that everyone has access to care. Their continued commitment reflects the strength of the Midlands community and the shared belief that neighbors should care for one another.
We are grateful for FIG Magazine’s decision to highlight this important work throughout the year and look forward to seeing even more people learn about and support the mission of Good Samaritan Clinic.
Congratulations to the entire Good Samaritan Clinic team on this well-deserved recognition and for your continued dedication to serving the community.
