South Carolina Severe Weather & Flood Safety Week: March 8–14, 2026

Governor Henry McMaster has designated March 8–14, 2026, as South Carolina Severe Weather and Flood Safety Week. This annual observance highlights the importance of preparing for hazards that frequently impact our state, including severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, flash flooding, and coastal storms.

During the week, state and local partners will share preparedness information and safety tips to help South Carolinians stay informed and ready before severe weather strikes. Residents are encouraged to review their emergency plans and ensure they can receive weather alerts.

Staying prepared helps protect families, homes, and communities across South Carolina.
