Celebrating Tanya Ambrose: International Women’s Day Spotlight Series 2026 Awardee

We are proud to celebrate Tanya Ambrose, MPH, CLC, on being recognized as an International Women’s Day Spotlight Series 2026 Awardee for her outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing health equity and empowering communities.

Tanya is a public health professional, maternal and reproductive health specialist, and dedicated community health advocate whose work focuses on improving health outcomes across the lifespan. She holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Services Policy and Management and a Graduate Certificate in Maternal and Child Health. She is also a Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW), Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and Birth and Postpartum Doula, bringing a comprehensive and compassionate approach to community-centered care.

Tanya is the Founder and CEO of Scrub Life Cares, a public health nonprofit committed to promoting menstrual equity, comprehensive reproductive and sexual health education, and whole-person wellness in underserved communities in Antigua and Barbuda, across the Caribbean, and in the United States.

Through Scrub Life Cares, Tanya works to strengthen community health systems by increasing access to essential resources, providing culturally responsive health education, and advocating for equitable health policies. Her work spans public health practice, maternal and perinatal health, research, and community engagement, allowing her to approach health challenges with a holistic, trauma-informed perspective.

Tanya is deeply passionate about building sustainable programs, fostering cross-sector partnerships, and creating safe spaces where women, girls, families, and health workers feel informed, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Her recognition as an International Women’s Day Spotlight Series Awardee highlights the impact of her work and the powerful difference that community-driven leadership can make in advancing global health equity.
